The classic round instruments have been replaced with a wide digital screen, which Opel calls the “Opel Pure Panel”. Inside, the Manta GSe ElektroMOD features the latest Opel digital technology. The Manta GSe ElektroMOD can display messages like “My German heart has been ELEKTRified” written across the new front or “I am on a zero e-mission”, and “I am an ElektroMOD”. Acting as a protective visor, the Opel Pixel-Visor is actually a screen that can display various messages and images. The exterior is also enhanced by a modern take on the classic Manta A front styling, which incorporates the new Opel Pixel-Vizor stretching across the entire width of the vehicle. So, it appears that manual transmissions can live on in electric vehicles. The Jeep® brand introduced the Wrangler Magneto Concept at the 2021 Moab Easter Jeep Safari, which also featured an all-electric powertrain equipped with a manual transmission. Being an electric vehicle also means that power is available instantly. While the power levels don’t seem extraordinary, it is a good upgrade over the original Manta A powerplant which made 105 horsepower in GT/E form. of torque, which sends power to the rear wheels. The Manta GSe ElektroMOD retains its original four-speed manual transmission but mates it to an electric motor producing 145 horsepower and 188 lb.-ft. The result is an awesome resto-mod, blending the beautiful styling of the Manta and the most recent technology available with today’s automotive industry. The Manta GSe ElektroMOD Concept started life as a 1970 Opel Manta A, Opel ditched the gasoline-powered four-cylinder engine under the hood in favor of an all-electric powertrain. To help build up excitement with its fan base about the possibilities of an electrified future, this past year Opel introduced the Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD Concept. The Manta GSe is said to be a one-off model and is not expected to enter series production.Just like many of the other Stellantis brands, the Opel brand is embracing a future for electrification. The new Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD was created to showcase the brand's commitment towards emissions-free mobility. The electric powertrain also comes mated with a four-speed manual gearbox, although the car can be engaged in fourth gear and driven automatically as well. However, the interesting part is that the electric motor sends all the power to the back, making it a rear-wheel-drive electric vehicle. The electric powertrain is said to take about four hours to charge completely via a 9kW in-built charger unit. Opel also claims a maximum range of 200 kilometres for the Manta GSe. Powering the new Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD is a 31 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, paired with an electric motor said to produce 147 BHP and 255 Nm. The sedan also features a three-spoke steering wheel with a yellow marker in the 12 o'clock position adding a bit of sportiness. Inside, the two-door Manta GSe features a pair of integrated screens, one for the digital instrument cluster and the other being the touchscreen infotainment system. The side profile is characterised by 17-inch stylish and lightweight alloy wheels. The new Opel Manta GSe comes in vibrant neon yellow paintwork with a contrasting black bonnet. The ElektroMOD also comes with three-dimensional LED tail lights at the back. Flanking the LED screen at either end are a pair of LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The Opel Pixel Vizor is made up of an LED screen, which displays text messages. The new Manta GSe ElektroMOD features the brand's Pixel Vizor at the front in place of the grille. The new Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD carries forward the iconic design of the original model yet comes packed with a host of tech, along with an all-electric powertrain. The Opel Manta GSe is an updated and electrified version of the brand's 'Manta A' sports coupe from the 1970s. Opel has unveiled its latest creation, the Manta GSe ElektroMOD.
